  2. Hold

Yatzy Booku! scoring strategy

  • Protect the upper bonus

Score in Aces to Sixes early. The 63-point threshold pays a 50-point bonus, which is the single biggest swing on the sheet.

  • Keep flexible combinations open

Do not lock in too soon. Leaving options for straights and full house is worth more than banking a weak hand.

  • Use Chance as a safety net

If nothing fits, take the points with Chance. Every point counts, and a scratched box counts for none.

Frequently asked questions

Is Yatzy Booku! free to play?

Yes, Yatzy Booku! is completely free to play. You can join or create multiplayer games without paying anything. A free account is required for multiplayer (so the game can track your identity across sessions), and it also unlocks leaderboard rankings.

How many dice does Yatzy Booku! use?

Yatzy Booku! uses 6 dice instead of the traditional 5. The extra die opens up new scoring categories like Three Pairs, Two Triples, and Grand Straight (1-2-3-4-5-6), making the game deeper and more strategic than standard Yahtzee or Yatzy.

What is different from Yahtzee?

Yatzy Booku! differs from Yahtzee in several ways: it uses 6 dice instead of 5, it has 20 scoring categories instead of 13, and it includes unique categories like Three Pairs, Two Triples (2x3), Grand Straight, and the ultimate Yatzy Booku! (all 6 dice showing the same number). The upper section bonus works the same way as it does in Yahtzee: 63 or more in the upper section earns 50 bonus points.

How does multiplayer work?

Create a lobby and share the link with anyone you want to play against. Up to 4 players can join a single game. Players take turns rolling dice and choosing scoring categories in real time. Each turn has a 30-second timer to keep the game moving. The player with the highest total score at the end of all 20 rounds wins.

Can I play Yatzy Booku! with friends online?

Yes. Create a private table and you get a six-character room code and a link to share β€” anyone with either can take a seat, up to four players in total. Everyone sees the dice and the scorecard update live, and each turn has a 30-second timer so the game keeps moving. You can also open a public table and be matched with whoever is around.
